Haiku Tuesday: Upcycling Theme

Happy Haikuesday! I’ve been unravelling old wool and alpaca sweaters belonging to my aunt’s husband’s father in order to dye and reuse for other projects. It’s a little tedious, but the work begins to feel meditative after a short time. It also carries a heavy sense of guilt, because most of the sweaters appear to have been hand-knit. I could be mistaken in this, but they were at least hand-seamed. All that work someone else did to keep another person warm, just for me to tear apart! So it goes.

“Unravelling old
Hand-knit sweaters, crushed by a
Chilly sense of guilt.”

Do you upcycle or reclaim supplies for your own projects? I’d love to hear about them!

Cheers, S.
